Dr Richard Teh-Fu Tan combined his experience as an engineer with his training in Traditional Chinese Medicine to devise strategies to fortify acupuncture treatments. Horary clock relationships, imaging and mirroring are utilised in selection of meridians and treatment points. Tan’s Magic Points were devised using this system. The Magic Points are particularly useful for complicated pathologies.
This lecture will aim to demonstrate horary clock relationships and their application in acupuncture. Mirroring and imaging will be discussed and may give a deeper understanding of point function when compared with rote learning.
A brief introduction to Chinese hexagrams will enable further understanding of point selection with respect to yin/yang balancing. Particular point selection allows the desired element to be utilised for effective treatment.
The session aims to deepen the understanding of the experienced practitioner and allow inexperienced practitioners to have a key to simplify point selection
